IMPRESSIONS OF A DANGEROUS MIND -- Part II

One of the most intriguing short films at this year's Crested Butte Reel Fest was PREACHER WITH AN UNKNOWN GOD. This documentary follows Reverend Billy and his disciples from the "Church Of Stop Shopping" as they travel from California to New York exorcising everything from Wal-Mart to Starbucks to Safeway to the Republican National Convention. High in visual energy and edited with elan, this sixteen minute production leaves the audience wanting more.

Reverend Billy's mantra goes something like this:

"We live under absurdities. We have forgotten what evil is."
"Monopoly is called democracy."
"Patriotism is called shopping."
"Racism is crime fighting."
"Sweatshops mean efficiency."

Agree with Reverend Billy or not, it was refreshing to see at least one "politically incorrect" film in the festival. Hallelujah!
